Broadway Businesses

Each year, creative and brilliant artists from all around decorate our festival with their unique creations and merchandise, purchasable by our patrons.

In 2024, the outdoor festival site is in the arts-friendly Broadway district of Saskatoon with all theatre venues being within short walking distance of each other. 11th Street East between Broadway Avenue and Dufferin Avenue is closed to traffic for the duration of the Festival and plays host to up to 30 artisan vendors.

We are currently accepting applications for the following 2024 Fringe vendors:
– 3-day artisan vendors (Broadway Days August 3rd-5th)
– Full Festival vendors (August 1st – 10th)

    Know before you go!

    Application Process

Please read the application form carefully.

Vendors will be located in our Artisan Alley on 11th Street E, and Broadway Avenue (for Broadway Days).

The registration fees for the spots are as follows:
For three-day artisans the fee is $250.
For full Festival artisans the fee is $420.

Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis.  We are able to accept up to 30 full festival artisans and 20 two-day artisans.

When reviewing applications, we will be focused on:
    • exposing our patrons to a variety of art forms,
    • ensuring a quality experience for our patrons, and
    • providing a safe and respectful environment for our patrons, other artists, volunteers, and staff.

You will be contacted no later than 10 business days after submitting your application to let you know if we are able to offer you a space at the 2024 Saskatoon Fringe Festival.

    Getting Ready for the Festival

After completing your application, a staff member of 25th Street Theatre will be in touch to update any information collected in the application process.

If you need to withdraw, please be advised that no refunds will be issued.

Before the Festival, take another look through your Agreement and confirm you have all that you need in terms of infrastructure, lighting, etc. for your stall.

As an outdoor Festival, the Fringe is subject to many weather conditions. We highly recommend getting a tent that can lower each night, and weights/sandbags to hold the legs down.

    Festival Time

Staff will begin to set up for the Festival on the Monday before opening – July 29th, 2024.

Vendors will be invited to load on on Opening Night of the Festival (Thursday, August 1st) one hour before the Festival opens. Absolutely no parking is provided for the Festival, but there will be a designated loading zone.

We strongly recommend that artisans remove anything of value from their booth every evening. While we do have overnight site security, they cannot be everywhere at once, and we are not responsible for anything that may go missing or be damaged if it is left on the site overnight.

    ARTISAN VENDOR FAQS

What are the fees? When can I withdraw until?

If you are signing up for our two-day Broadway option, the fee is $210, plus tax.
If you are signing up for our full festival option, the fee is $420, plus tax.
If you need to withdraw, please be advised that no refund will be issued.

What are the 2024 Festival dates and hours?

The Festival runs from August 1st to 10th. The hours on weekdays are 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and the weekend hours (including the holiday Monday) are 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Where does the Festival take place?

The outdoor festival site is in the arts-friendly Broadway district of Saskatoon with all theatre venues being within short walking distance of each other. 11th Street East between Broadway Avenue and Dufferin Avenue is closed to traffic for the duration of the Festival and plays host to up to 30 artisan vendors. We host many arts engagement activities in W.E. Graham Park (602 Dufferin Avenue, behind Ecole Victoria School) which houses our sales office, food trucks, and our licensed drinking area.

For two days only (August 3rd and 4th), thanks to the support of the Broadway BID, we will also be closing Broadway Avenue between 10th Street East and 12th Street East. There will be artisan vendor spaces available in front of Ecole Victoria School for these two days only.

So, I can sign up for two days or for 10 days?

That’s right!  This year we are providing two options for artisans.  You can either commit to the full 10 days or opt for the two-day option.

Where will my booth be located?

For Full Fringers: 11th Street East will play host to up to 30 artisan vendors for the duration of the Festival.  Each artisan is allotted a 10′ x 10′ space, and we will be placing vendors on the north side of 11th Street East with a handful of vendors potentially being placed in front of the Cosmo Seniors’ Centre.   PLEASE NOTE: Due to issues that arose in 2022, artisan vendors will not be placed directly in front of the Hose and Hydrant.
For Two Day Fringers:  You will be allocated a space on the east side of the meridian in front of Ecole Victoria School.

If I sign up for the 10 day option, will I still be able to have my booth on Broadway for the two days that street is closed?

Yes, we are happy to accommodate vendors who would like to move their booth from 11th Street East onto Broadway Avenue on the east side of the meridian in front of Ecole Victoria School for August 5th and 6th.

What support can I expect from the Saskatoon Fringe Festival?

We want your customer engagement to be a huge success, so we will help as much as we are able.  That said, we are a small staff serving many artists across a broad spectrum so our capacity is limited.
At this time, we are happy to provide the following services for our artisans:
    • on-site security**
    • promotion on our social media accounts
    • designated loading and unloading zones
    • regular site maintenance including trash removal
    • discount on Fringe merch and artist pricing in the licensed area
**We strongly recommend that artisans remove anything of value from their booth every evening.  While we do have overnight site security, they cannot be everywhere at once, and we are not responsible for anything that may go missing or be damaged if it is left on the site overnight.

Will you provide access to electricity? A pop up tent? Tables? Chairs?

Unfortunately no, we are not able to provide these things for our artisans.  It is your responsibility to bring what you will need in order to have a successful experience.

    Can I sell food?

Unfortunately no, we do not allow artisan vendors to sell any edible products.

    What happens if it rains?

Rain or shine, the Fringe goes on!
Should the weather devolve to a state where the Festival can no longer operate safely, The Theatre reserves the right to cancel the Festival in whole or in part due to weather circumstances which jeopardize the health and safety of the Vendor, Festival staff, Festival volunteers, and/or Festival patrons.
There are no refunds issued for any cancellation due to inclement weather.

     Broadway businesses

Broadway Businesses are invited to join us at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival for our Broadway Days!
Please register below to have your reserve your booth space at the Festival.

There is no fee associated for Broadway Businesses wishing to participate in Broadway Days.
    Broadway Days are August 3rd – 5th (noon – 10 PM).

On these days, the Fringe expands to include two blocks of Broadway Avenue between 10th Street East and 12th Street East. Broadway businesses located within this footprint are welcome to host a booth/patio etc. outside of their storefronts. Other Broadway Businesses not located within the two blocks are still invited to sign up at no cost and we will find a location for you on the street.

      Food vendors

Applications for Fringe Food Vendors are now open!
We can accept up to 9 food trucks. We will not be accepting vendors that operate out of food tents, please only apply if you operate out of a powered truck or trailer.

The Festival takes place August 1st – 10th in W.E. Graham Park and 11th Street East and will expand on to Broadway Avenue for the long weekend. All food vendors will be located inside the park along with our carnival games, box office, outdoor stage, and licensed beer garden.

Please note: There will be no additional trucks on the street during the expanded Broadway Days.

The fee to participate is $1,250.00

When reviewing applications, we will be focused on:
      – diversity of food options for patrons,
      – ensuring a quality experience for our patrons,
      – environmentally sustainable practices and biodegradable serve-ware, and
      – providing a safe and respectful environment for our patrons, other artists, volunteers, and staff.
