It is on Broadway!
The Saskatoon Fringe Festival has moved one step to the left, our site now begins at the intersection of 11th Street E and Broadway Avenue.
PLUS during our Broadway Days we expand our footprint out 0nto two blocks of Broadway Avenue between 10th Street E and 12th Street E.

Several years ago the Saskatoon Fringe Festival made the conscious decision to move our site for the betterment of our event and community. Here’s why:

– Historically the previous footprint of the Festival was not sustainable – both financially and in terms of human resources. By 2018, the Fringe was in severe financial trouble. And then there was a pandemic.
– Shutting down the full street on Broadway for 10 days made life difficult for our neighbours and the local businesses.
– Due to city restrictions, the street had to re-open every evening. This was an enormous physical and emotional strain on our staff and volunteers to strike and reset the entire Festival every day. Not to mention, a safety concern with traffic now trying to drive through as we worked.
– Now that we are on the side street and in the beautiful park, we can own and rent semi-permanent infrastructure which saves a significant amount of time, energy, and money!

The Saskatoon Fringe works hard to provide a wonderful outdoor event, but please don’t forget that this is not typical for all Fringe Festivals and that the main purpose of the Fringe is to share wonderful theatre from across the world! Please enjoy our outdoor site, but during your visit make sure you check out a show too!
